Hello Members,
I would like to thank you for your continued support of myself as Club Captain for 2024. With the help of the committee, I endeavour to provide the best golfing experience and enjoyment for our members.
The FRVSC has seen a continued influx of new members in 2024. We welcome you all and look forward to seeing you on the course. We currently have 288 members, with 97 being home golflink members
Peter Tahin continues to do a fantastic job in his role of New Memberships and Golf Link. The Firegolf.com website continues to be updated with news, results and game information. Big thanks to Chips McMahon in keeping this up to date. I continue to encourage members to lead prospective members to this website for all the information about joining and golf club news.
The OneGolf and MiScore booking and scoring system has, I believe been a huge success. We had a few teething problems early in the year but appear to be on track now. The implementation of these two systems have made bookings and collating of scores on game day a lot easier.
The 2024 course roster has been very well received, with excellent numbers attending games. The Club Championship rounds were averaging more than 80 players over the four rounds.
The 2023 Phil Wigg Matchplay final was played between Michael Keating and Richard Kemp. With Kempy taking the victory. The 2023 Kev Cummins 4BBB was taken out by Rod Mothersole and Craig Williams. Congratulations to all.
The 2024 Phil Wigg Matchplay and Kev Cummins 4BBB competition are into the semi-final stage. Once again good luck to all involved.
I would like to thank Peter Leonard for all his work in organizing and running these two events. A thank you also to the members participating and making sure you got the games completed by the required date.
In March, we again ventured up to Swan Hill to take on the SA boys for the Two Al’s Cup. This was once again a huge success which saw us come away with the victory. I cannot recommend this trip more highly and encourage members to try and get there in 2025.
The 2023 Australasians Golf Championships were held in NT at Darwin Golf Club. Victoria had over 40 representatives attending. It was a hugely successful week with many of our members winning competition day prizes as well as winning board events
The Victorian team consisting of Serge Abreu, Paul Quilty, Richard Kemp, Trevor Duddy, Peter McNiece and George Formisano played some great golf and came away 4th place. A big congratulations also to Richard Kemp for making the Australasian Team of the Year.
This year we are heading to the Gold Coast with 43 members. Fantastic turnout once again. The 2024 team will be announced shortly. I have no doubt this team will once again represent out club and state with great pride.
To all members, if you have not been to an Australasians, I encourage you to jump on board. It is a great week of golf, mate ship and laughs.
As mentioned earlier, Yarra Yarra GC on 20th May 2024, kicked off our Club Championship rounds, followed by Moonah Links GC, Woodlands GC and finishing with Southern GC. Congratulations to all the winners. (to be announced at Keysborough)
The committee continue to do a lot of work behind the scenes to give all members value for money and the best golfing experience as possible
FRVSGC introduced a new accounts software program to help with game payments, credits and voucher record keeping. I believe this has worked well with members now receiving invoices for games and knowledge of credits. A big thank you to Ben Clark in facilitating this.
Next year’s course roster is nearly finalised and will be announced at Keysborough GC, our Christmas Ambrose game.
Finally, I would like to thank outgoing President Chris Drysdale for his dedicated service to the FRVSGC over the last 10 plus years. Having served on the general committee for a number of years and then taking the roll as Club Captain for 4 years and then President for last 3 years. During his leadership the club has grown exponentially to 288 members. His enthusiasm and infectious personality have been a huge factor in where this club is today. His dedication, guidance and above all friendship is something that I personally treasure. On behalf of all FRVSGC members I thank you for all your time and work over may years.
In closing, thank you to the committee and all members for your continued support of the FRVSGC and I look forward to seeing you all out on the course.
Relax & Enjoy
Cam Colliver

Hello Members,
Well, 2023 has been another big year for FRVSGC. Thankyou again to all the members that have supported the club this year and I trust you have enjoyed your time playing many of the great courses on offer.
2024 promises to be an even bigger year. The committee have been busy behind the scenes, looking for ways to make your golf experiences even better. To this end we are implementing some enhancements for next year.
FRVSGC membership for 2024 will be $65.00.
Golflink Handicap (home members) will be $100.00
What you get for your 2024 Membership:
Twelve month membership (minimum 16 games per year)
MiScore & OneGolf valued at $11.00 (members to purchase app at their cost $19.50)
FRVSGC Golf Cap valued at $30.00
Two FRVSGC Marque games subsidised by Club valued at $50.00
Game day prizes with an increase of $10 per game prize vouchers (pay to 4th place in larger fields) NTP’s, Long Drive and ball run down
The club has invested in new accounting software (myob), and a tee booking and scoring system, MiScore and OneGolf.
To help with the transition to MiScore and OneGolf we will be invoicing every member their 2024 renewal in early November 2023. Membership $65.00 and Golflink $100.00 (if a home member) will be due by 15th December 2023. It would be appreciated if members could pay asap as it will make it less work to chase up members in the later days of December.
FRVSGC need to have all our members paid up so that we can transfer all data to MiScore and OneGolf before the end of the year so that we can go live on 1st January 2024.
If you are not a financial member as of 1st January 2024 access to OneGolf booking system will not work and if a home member your Golflink handicap will be temporarily suspended. Once payment is made you will be reinstated.
From the start of next year members will book their tee times on the OneGolf time sheet. They will then be invoiced via email for that game (you can pay before invoice arrives). Payment will then be required by due date. On all invoices there will be a link for payment, or you can transfer into FRVSGC account as done in the past.
All members accounts will include balances. Therefore, if you have credit and/or prize vouchers not yet redeemed this will show as a positive balance. All prize vouchers in 2024 will automatically go into your account.
Information on MiClub/OneGolf and MiScore:
MiClub/OneGolf is a full automated golf management solution with an online time sheet system, competition management module and much more.
Current financial members will be given a username and password and be able to book online by logging into the OneGolf website. They will then be able to book a tee time for 1,2,3 or 4 players.
Tee times will open 2 weeks prior to round. Bookings will be locked 4 days before round. Therefore, if you wish to cancel or add your name to the time sheet you will need to phone an administrator to do so.
Please see below link on how to log into OneGolf:
In recent years golf clubs have been moving away from printing cards or are charging us extra to do so. To this end, FRVSGC will be using the MiScore scoring app in conjunction with OneGolf booking system from 2024 onwards.
MiScore is a digital scoring app that can be used for competition or social scoring at registered venues that use MiClub/OneGolf golf management software. The app is extremely easy to use and comes with helpful features like automatic score calculation, a GPS distance measurement tool, and round timer for managing pace of play. Golf club members using MiScore for competition scoring can view live leaderboards and player statistics in-app. Members will need to purchase the app from Google Playstore or Apple Appstore. Cost is $19.49 for a 12 month subscription and gives you access to courses all over the country.
Players will input their score as well as their markers score on each hole. Once round completed you will submit your score. MiScore will not allow you to submit scores unless both player and markers score are identical.
FRVSGC committee strongly encourages members to purchase the app as it will make scoring and results easier, faster and quicker for all members and for presentation purposes.
Please see below link on how to register for MiScore App:
As we get closer to launch date 1st January 2024 there will be more information conveyed to members.
FRVSGC committee once again expects 2024 to be a successful year for the club and all its members. Whilst the new changes may incur a few teething problems, we are sure with all your support it will be a positive change for the future.
If any member has any questions or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Happy Golfing
